The Church Calvary Mission in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, came alive with praise and worship its annual end-of-year service, a time of reflection, gratitude, and prophetic declarations. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with songs of thanksgiving as the congregation gathered to bid farewell to 2024 and welcome the promises of a new year.
The highlight of the service was the powerful message delivered by the General Overseer, Bishop Clement I Ogumu who inspired the faithful with the prophetic theme for the year ahead: “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Drawing from the biblical passage in Exodus 12:13, the overseer emphasized the protective power of the blood of Jesus Christ, assuring worshippers that divine protection and deliverance would mark their journey in 2025.
In his sermon, the General Overseer reflected on the challenges and victories of the outgoing year, encouraging the congregation to anchor their faith in God’s unfailing promises. He explained that just as the blood of the lamb shielded the Israelites during the first Passover, believers who trust in the redemptive power of Christ would experience supernatural covering and breakthroughs.
The service featured dynamic praise and worship sessions led by the church choir, heartfelt testimonies from members about God’s faithfulness throughout the year, and a solemn moment of intercession for families, the nation, and the global church. The congregation also participated in Holy Communion, symbolizing the covenant of protection and grace declared for the coming year.
As the clock struck midnight, the atmosphere shifted into joyous celebration, with congregants lifting their voices in gratitude for crossing into the new year under God’s banner of love and mercy. Fireworks lit up the sky as the church community rejoiced in the hope and assurance encapsulated in the prophetic declaration.
The end-of-year service at Church Calvary Mission not only celebrated the conclusion of 2024 but also ignited hope for a victorious 2025, where the promise of divine protection—“When I see the blood, I will pass over you”—remains a guiding light for all.
